Odoo Single sign on with Google (for Internal users)

Single Sign-on (SSO) enables to centralize the end to end management of online user accounts and provide transparent and integrated sign-in across web sites. Single sign-on (SSO) is a session and user authentication service that permits a user to use one set of login credentials (e.g., name and password) to access multiple applications.

Odoo provides a module auth_oauth for this purpose.

After installation of module, first we need to configure some requirements.

Go to Settings -> General Settings

1. In Google Integration segment

  • Enable “Allow users to sign in with Google”
  • Paste your “Google Client ID” in next text field

2. How to generate Google Client ID

  • In the same segment you can find the steps to generate it.
  • Tick on “Show Tutorial” checkbox

3. Now go to sign in page, You will find a link ‘Log in with Google”

  • In the same segment you can find the steps to generate it.
  • Tick on “Show Tutorial” checkbox

4. After clicking on the same link you will be asked to log in to your google account.

5. If the Users by same email id exist in Odoo, you will be automatically get logged in to Odoo

6. If Users by same email id does not exist in Odoo, system will not allow to log in to the person,
Saying you are not an internal user.
